Greetings and felicitations!

Welcome! I invite you to join me on my journey to better health and well-being. Believe me, if I can do this, so can you!

My promise to you is no preaching, no soapbox, no lectures. This is going to be about what worked well for me -- I will comment but that's it -- take what you will from that. I figure, the book doesn't preach, so why should I? Feel free to post questions or comments -- and pass along the link to anyone who you feel might be interested. The more, the merrier!

However, I am only human...expect the occasional foot-stamping tantrum when I want chocolate...

Day 15 (Accelerate Cycle)

136 lbs!

I was fully expecting that number to have gone up a bit, considering my misbehaviour over the weekend.  So to say I'm thrilled with a small decrease is a bit of an understatement -- I'm ecstatic!

I'm back on track now -- with the food anyway.  Didn't fit in any exercise today, but will manage extra tomorrow and the rest of the week.  In case you're wondering, I don't exercise after 8:00 at night as I find that I can't fall asleep later on -- my energy burst lasts a long time.  Years ago, I used to walk with a group of neighbours, which went really well until our start time was pushed back to 8:30 and then 9:00 and then almost 9:30 -- I found I was still awake at 2:00 in the morning after one of those walks.  So, there you have my personal exercise "rule of thumb" -- I really enjoy sleep, so I'm not going to do anything to jeapordize a full night...

Today's menu:
Breakfast -- 2 poached eggs, 1/2 grapefruit, coffee
Morning Snack -- 6 oz vanilla yogurt with red grapes mixed in (this has officially replaced the peach-on-peach combination as my favourite...)
Lunch -- Dr. Mike's chicken soup
Dinner -- Traci's tuna salad, green tea

I found that I was needing the afternoon snack today, but all I had with me was some apple -- no fruit allowed after 2:00 pm -- so I made do with a lot of water.  That works really well...

Counting down to Thursday, the next weigh-in and the oatmeal for breakfast!  Did I mention that I can have a potato that day, too?!

Thanks for reading!
